Hello Everybody!
I’m the newest board member for Nerds Abroad and I am happy to be on the team. I’ve known Stephen for a long time and am excited to see every adventure he goes on. But, I bet you want to know more about me. Let’s start with college, I got my undergrad at Ithaca College where I majored in Business but was heavily involved in the music, and television/film programs. I was also the Advocacy Chair for the Ithaca College, Colleges Against Cancer chapter, where I lead initiatives to improve patient and caregiver support within the Tompkins County area of New York.
Since college, I’ve lived all over the west coast but am happy to be back in my home-state, Oregon. I’ve been with Nike for 5-years in various roles, including as an I.T. team lead for new hardware in support of our Global Product Engines. I’ve also gone back to school at the University of Portland for my MBA with a focus on marketing. It is going to be exciting to bring my skills in brand management and strategy to the team. We will work together to bring Nerds Abroad to its full potential.
Outside of work, I’m an avid climber, mostly bouldering but I do go sport climbing when I can. I find it to be a relaxing and excellent way to work-out stress. It is also a great excuse, as if we need any, to travel the world. In addition, I am also a musician and often boast I could play any instrument but don’t ask me to sing. Overall, I am always looking for the next challenge and horizon. Because, “To give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice the gift.” (Steve Prefontaine)
