Great news! Valley Community Church chose Nerds Abroad as the recipient of the Mission Endowment grant. We could not be more ecstatic to partner once again with a great organization who believes in our mission and took the chance on us. With Nerds Abroad being faithfully growing, these small gestures of faith are huge in the success of our non-profit. With the funds, we were able to bring our own portable power station and print a banner for our events.

So what’s the plan anyway? The Nerds Abroad Board of Directors met recently to discuss their vision and goals for reaching that target plan. While we had hoped to develop the Tech Weekend Camps already, we found another path that will allow us to explore the community’s needs and interest in our mission.

You saw us already this summer at the Tigard Bull Mt. Farmers Market, where we saw a huge success in meeting with community members to share our passion and vision with them. We were also able to provide tech support, repairs and advice. We are already looking to plan a consistent schedule of visitations to Farmers Markets in the Portland and Mid-Willamette Valley for next season.

Valley Community Presbyterian Church took a chance on Nerds Abroad and gave us the opportunity to grow and develop. We hope that you will take a chance on us and let us fix your technology! Keep an eye on this blog for the announcement about future market visitations.
